WhatsApp, the popular messaging app, is taking steps to enhance its user experience by introducing significant design improvements. Recent reports indicate that WhatsApp is currently testing a new bottom navigation bar and a redesigned Context Menu specifically for Android users. Excitingly, there are also noteworthy changes planned for iOS. Read on for further details.

WhatsApp for iOS Set for Design Changes!

According to a report by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is currently testing a complete redesign of the Settings page for iOS users in beta version 23.11.0.75. This redesign aims to enhance the user interface of the Settings menu on iOS. Notably, the Settings tab now takes the form of a circular window, prominently displaying the user’s profile photo.

At the top of this redesigned Settings page, a new shortcut has been introduced for convenient access and sharing of QR Codes. Additionally, three new shortcuts—Profile, Privacy, and Contacts—have been placed just below the QR Code shortcut. For a visual representation of these changes, refer to the screenshot provided by WABetaInfo.

Given the ongoing testing on iOS, it is reasonable to expect a stable rollout of these changes in the near future. Moreover, WhatsApp intends to introduce new styles for each section within the Settings page on iOS, along with a translucent tab bar.

In addition to the iOS updates, there are also some notable changes being tested for Android. WhatsApp is experimenting with a redesigned keyboard that incorporates a pill-shaped Emoji Category Bar positioned at the top. The shared screenshot reveals three distinct options within the bar: Emojis, GIFs, and Stickers.

Furthermore, to maintain design consistency, the attachment sharing button and the emoji keyboard button will be moved upwards. While it remains uncertain whether these changes will eventually be implemented on iOS, there is a possibility of their introduction.

By undertaking these design changes, WhatsApp is actively committed to a complete overhaul of its messaging app, aiming for a uniform user experience across both Android and iOS platforms. The company is diligently focusing on every minute detail to provide its users with the most holistic messaging experience possible.

It is important to note that the aforementioned design tweaks are currently under development. Therefore, it is difficult to determine an exact timeline for their availability to all users. However, given WhatsApp’s track record of regularly introducing new features, it is reasonable to expect these updates to be launched soon. We will keep you updated on any further developments. In the meantime, we encourage you to share your thoughts in the comments section below.
