Leaks suggest that Samsung’s next foldable won’t be the thinnest around, but it won’t be far off either.

It seems Samsung is gearing up to make a serious statement in the foldable phone market. New renders leaked by OnLeaks, in collaboration with Android Headlines, suggest that the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7 will be Samsung’s thinnest foldable yet — and one of the slimmest in the world. If these leaks hold true, Samsung could finally close the gap with competitors like Oppo and Honor, delivering a device that perfectly balances sleek design and high-end functionality.

Let’s dive into what we know so far.

A Razor-Thin Contender

According to the leaked renders, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 will measure just 4.5mm thick when unfolded. For context, Oppo’s Find N5 — currently the world’s thinnest foldable — is 4.2mm thick, while Honor’s Magic V3 comes in at 4.4mm. This makes Samsung’s new foldable just a hair thicker than the Find N5, but still an impressive engineering feat considering the technology packed inside.

In the U.S. market, this would make the Z Fold 7 the undisputed thinnest foldable. For comparison, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 is 5.6mm thick, Google’s Pixel 9 Pro Fold measures 5.1mm, and the OnePlus Open — the thickest of the bunch — stands at 5.8mm. With OnePlus confirming that no new foldable is on the horizon for 2025, Samsung seems poised to steal the show with its ultra-slim design.

What About When It’s Closed?

While the open dimensions are jaw-dropping, the closed thickness of the Z Fold 7 is a bit more ambiguous. Reports suggest the device will measure 9.5mm with the camera bump and around 9mm without it. However, the renders show a noticeably prominent camera bump — likely thicker than just 0.5mm. This discrepancy leaves some room for speculation, but if Samsung truly manages to keep the closed thickness below 10mm, it would still be an impressive achievement for a foldable of this size.

Bigger Screens, Same Battery Capacity

The Z Fold 7 is not just slimming down — it’s also sizing up. The device is rumored to feature a larger 8.2-inch inner screen and a wider 6.5-inch outer display. This expanded screen real estate should make multitasking even more seamless and elevate the overall user experience.

Despite the thinner frame, Samsung has reportedly managed to fit in the same 4,400mAh battery as the Z Fold 6. This could be a result of more efficient internal design and space-saving components, allowing users to enjoy larger screens without sacrificing battery life.

Flagship Power and Camera Upgrades

Performance-wise, the Z Fold 7 is expected to be a powerhouse. Android Headlines predicts the phone will be equipped with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, promising blazing-fast speeds and top-tier efficiency.

The camera system is also getting a serious upgrade. The Z Fold 7 is rumored to sport a 200-megapixel main camera, accompanied by the same 10-megapixel telephoto lens and 12-megapixel ultrawide sensor found on the Z Fold 6. This combination suggests that while Samsung is refining its camera hardware, it’s also focusing on delivering cutting-edge image quality through software enhancements and AI-driven photography features.

A Summer 2025 Launch (With a Twist?)

The Galaxy Z Fold 7 is expected to debut in July 2025, alongside the Galaxy Z Flip 7. There were whispers that Samsung might use this event to unveil its first-ever trifold phone, but according to leaker Max Jambor, the trifold model will launch “at a later point in time.”

Even without the trifold, the Z Fold 7’s launch promises to be a headline-grabbing moment. If these leaks pan out, Samsung could set a new standard for foldables, blending ultra-slim design, larger displays, and powerhouse performance into one stunning device.

The foldable market is evolving rapidly, and Samsung seems ready to lead the charge. The Galaxy Z Fold 7, with its impressive dimensions, upgraded camera system, and cutting-edge chip, might just be the foldable phone to beat in 2025.

Are you excited to see Samsung’s thinnest foldable yet? Let me know — I’d love to hear your thoughts on this sleek new contender! 🚀
