Preserves Conversations and Other Audio
YouTube is making it easier for creators to manage copyright claims and keep their content monetizable. In a recent Creator Insider video, the platform announced the release of an upgraded “erase song” tool, designed to remove copyrighted music from video segments while leaving other audio, such as conversations, intact.
New AI-Powered Algorithm for Enhanced Accuracy
When a creator receives a copyright claim for music, YouTube offers several options: trimming out the affected segment, replacing the song with one from its approved audio library, or now, using the enhanced “erase song” tool. This tool, which has been in testing, is now powered by an AI algorithm to improve its accuracy in detecting and removing copyrighted music.
Flexible Solutions for Challenging Audio
Despite these advancements, YouTube acknowledges that the tool may not always be flawless. In cases where a song is difficult to isolate, perhaps due to poor audio quality or overlapping sounds, creators have additional options. Besides trimming or replacing the music, the upgraded tool also allows for muting the affected part of the video.
Rollout in YouTube Studio
The upgraded “erase song” tool will be available in YouTube Studio within the coming weeks, providing creators with a more robust solution for managing copyright claims and maintaining their video’s monetization.
