Improved Multi-Device Support

WhatsApp has announced the update via Twitter, noting that the multi-device support feature will sync chats across multiple devices, enabling users to continue their conversations on any of their linked devices without any hassle. This update is particularly useful when a user’s phone battery is dead.

No charger, no problem. Now you can link WhatsApp to up to 4 devices so your chats stay synced, encrypted, and flowing even after your phone goes offline 🖥️ 📲

Linked Devices and Encryption

To link multiple devices to a single WhatsApp number, users need to navigate to the Linked Devices option in the Settings menu. This feature is also end-to-end encrypted, ensuring user privacy and security.

Secondary Device Limitations

Currently, users cannot link another smartphone as a secondary device, but WhatsApp is working on a companion mode for smartphones. However, there is no official launch date yet.

Improved Windows Client

WhatsApp has also updated its Windows client, with performance improvements that enable the app to load much faster. Users can now enjoy group video calls with up to eight people and voice calls with up to 32 people.

Seamless Use Across Devices

WhatsApp aims to provide users with a seamless messaging experience across all their devices, not just their mobile phones. The upgraded multi-device support is a step towards achieving this goal.
