Qualcomm has officially confirmed the dates for Snapdragon Summit 2023, which will be held in October, earlier than its usual December timeline. The event, taking place from October 22 to October 26 in Maui, Hawaii, is expected to unveil the flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset and Qualcomm’s custom-built PC chip, the Oryon CPU. This release is anticipated to bring performance and efficiency improvements to Arm-based laptops running Windows 11 in 2024.

Based on leaks, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, codenamed “SM8650,” is rumored to feature a prime Cortex-X4 CPU core clocked at 3.7GHz, along with 5 performance cores and 2 efficiency cores. This new 1+5+2 CPU architecture is expected to deliver significant performance upgrades compared to its predecessor, which had a 1+4+3 setup. Paired with the Adreno 750 GPU, the chipset will also provide an enhanced graphical experience. It is likely to be manufactured using TSMC’s 4nm process with N4P Node for improved efficiency.
