This new update version 23.5.77 makes use of the iOS 16 API to introduce Live Text capability. This feature enables users to copy, look up or even translate text from photos shared on WhatsApp. The new update also includes the ability to send Voice Statuses. WhatsApp’s New Text Detection Feature

The new WhatsApp feature allows iOS users to extract text from images shared on the platform. The feature uses the iOS 16 API and is similar to the Live Text feature introduced in iOS 16. This feature allows users to copy text from photos, look up the meaning of words, or translate text. However, it is yet to be confirmed whether this feature will be extended to WhatsApp videos too.
